My name is Katarzyna Tymek and I have been a licensed city guide since 2009. I organise and guide tours of Poznan and the Piast Route – the kind of tours I would like to take part in myself. I want a walk around the city with me to be a pleasure and for my guests to remember the images and stories of the tour. I love anecdotes – they are the ones to remember. I try to tailor the content and programme of the tour to specific groups and people – something different will be heard from me by a school group and something different by company employees on a team-building walk.

Description This guided tour is designed for ambitious discoverers who don’t want to limit themselves. In just one day, you will see all the important sights of Poznań that are mentioned in travel guides. You will get to know the 1000-year history of the city and numerous anecdotes about Poznań and its inhabitants – at a pace that suits you and without haste. The tour begins with a visit to Cathedral Island, the oldest part of Poznań. There you will visit the cathedral, where the remains of Poland’s first rulers are kept, and learn how the Polish state was born. You will also see the impressive 3D mural painting in the neighboring district of Śródka. Later, head to the Old Market Square, the heart of the city, with its colorful houses and fascinating stories. You briefly join hundreds of tourists who want to see the symbol of Poznań – two billy goats on the town hall tower, which only appear at 12:00. You will marvel at the parish church, which is considered the most beautiful in Poznań and where organ concerts are regularly organized. Afterwards, a lunch break awaits you in a local restaurant, where delicious Polish cuisine is served. The sightseeing tour then continues to Freedom Square. There you will learn about the so-called “longest war in modern Europe” and see beautiful buildings from the 19th century. Then you will discover the Imperial District with the youngest European castle and numerous university buildings. If you wish, you can also see the castle inside. To relax, you can visit the Croissant Museum, where a fun show explains how the Poznan delicacies are made. The entire tour can be done on foot. However, if you have a car or a bus, we can cover some of the distance by it – and combine sightseeing on foot and by car / bus. The exact program of the tour is up to you – for example, you can skip the Croissant Museum and visit the interactive Porta Posnania Museum, the Palm House, the Citadel Park or the Old Brewery instead. For larger groups, we recommend hiring tour guide equipment, which greatly improves comfort of sightseeing. The exact price of the tour depends on its duration. Entrance tickets to the sights, parking and meals are not included in the price.
