Ostrów Lednicki Island
Ostrów Lednicki holds historical significance as one of the residences of Poland’s first ruler Mieszko I, and as a potential site for the baptism of him in 966. Nestled on a small island in Lednickie Lake, visitors can explore the ruins of one of Poland’s earliest stone buildings, the residence of Poland’s first ruler, remnants of an ancient church, and the ramparts of the 10th-century borough. A short distance away lies the Fish Gate and Fields of Lednica, hosting the Youth Meetings Lednica.
