Old Brewery
Established in the 19th century as a brewery belonging to the Hugger family, the Old Brewery underwent transformation in the 1980s. Due to concerns over smoke emissions, the brewery relocated to the city outskirts, giving rise to Lech Browary Wielkopolski. Today, the Old Brewery stands not as a brewing facility, but as a distinguished shopping mall.
Recognized as one of Europe’s finest Shopping Centers, the Old Brewery is a treasure trove of modern art. Among its notable works is Igor Mitoraj’s sculpture “Moonlight,” affectionately referred to by locals as “the Mask.” In the courtyard between the old and new wings of the Old Brewary, visitors can marvel at one of the world’s largest beer mugs, immortalized in the Guinness Book of Records in 2007.
These are merely glimpses into the rich tapestry of the Old Brewary’s offerings. Guided tours of the gallery are available, providing deeper insights into its secrets, or visitors can opt for an audio guide for self-exploration.
