Gniezno
As one of Poland’s earliest capitals, Gniezno is a must-visit destination. The centerpiece of the city is the archcathedral, revered as the Mother of all Polish Churches. It was here that the first five kings of Poland were crowned, and the tomb of St. Adalbert, Poland’s first patron saint, is located. Noteworthy is the splendid 12th-century Gniezno Door depicting scenes from St. Adalbert’s life.
