My name is Katarzyna Tymek and I have been a licensed city guide since 2009. I organise and guide tours of Poznan and the Piast Route – the kind of tours I would like to take part in myself. I want a walk around the city with me to be a pleasure and for my guests to remember the images and stories of the tour. I love anecdotes – they are the ones to remember. I try to tailor the content and programme of the tour to specific groups and people – something different will be heard from me by a school group and something different by company employees on a team-building walk.

About us

Why our company?

“Who would want to work as a guide? You just repeat the same thing over and over again, and no one even listens!” That’s what I thought as an 8-year-old girl on a school trip. Fast forward 15 years, and here I am, working as a guide myself.

My name is Katarzyna Tymek, and I’ve been a licensed city guide since 2009. I specialize in organizing and leading tours of Poznań and the Piast Route, offering the kind of experiences I would enjoy myself. My goal is to make every city tour enjoyable and memorable for my guests, leaving them with vivid images and fascinating stories to cherish.

I have a passion for anecdotes because they stick in people’s minds. I strive to customize the content and itinerary of each tour to suit the specific interests and preferences of different groups. What I share with a school group will be different from what I share with a team-building group from a company.

Poznań holds a special place in my heart. I’m committed to continuous self-improvement and regularly participate in training courses to discover and showcase new places to my guests. I’m actively involved in various projects, such as leading thematic walks for Poznań residents with the Group of Guides of Poznań.pl, organizing “Poznań – our city” classes for the University of the Third Age, and giving lectures in collaboration with the Municipal Publishing House. I also take school groups on streetcar trips around the city, among many other activities.

I love meeting new people and learning languages. I’m fluent in German, English, and Spanish, and I guide groups in all of these languages.

While Poznań isn’t my hometown, I came here for studies and fell in love with the city. I earned degrees in Tourism and Recreation from Poznań’s Academy of Physical Education and in German Studies from Adam Mickiewicz University. Afterwards, I made the decision to stay and share the charms of this city with others.

In the meantime, I have built a team of enthusiastic tour guides who share similar values with me – they love Poznań and working with people. If I am ever unable to personally guide you through Poznań, one of my colleagues will be happy to step in.

Hope to see you soon!

Something like this doesn’t happen often – over 220 eager-to-learn listeners and just one guide. As part of my collaboration with the PoPoznaniu.pl Guides Group, I regularly lead open thematic walks, and these sometimes attract real crowds.

A lecture on the Golden Chapel, conducted on behalf of the Centre for Cultural Tourism ‘Trakt’. As the chapel can usually only be admired through the bars, this was a special experience not only for the participants, but for me too!

I regularly guide journalists and bloggers around Poznań, most often from German-speaking countries. It’s a great pleasure, but also a responsibility, as it sometimes happens that the words spoken during the tour are literally quoted in an article.
